Doris M. Wasilchuk, 86, of Croton, NY, previously from Ossining, NY, passed away on August 28, 2013. She was born May 1, 1927. Doris was the devoted wife of the late Peter Wasilchuk of Ossining and loving mother of two sons, Paul and Bruce, and two daughters, Laura and Holly. Doris is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Doris’s early love of dancing enabled her to secure a position with the famous female precision dance troupe, the Roxyettes with the Roxy Theater in New York City. During her tenure with the Roxyettes, Doris worked with such acts as the Flying Wallendas and Ray Bolger. Doris gave up the excitement and glamour of the theater to start a family.
Up until her passing, Doris was a very active member of the Cortlandt, Springvale and Ossining Senior Associations.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Dorsey. A private graveside service will be held at Dale Cemetery in Ossining on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
