Dutchess Woman Stole $64K In Gift Cards At Westchester ShopRite: Cops

The former employee was charged with second-degree grand larceny and released on her own recognizance, according to Croton-on-Hudson police.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — A Dutchess County woman was arrested for theft from a Croton-on-Hudson supermarket, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department.

In January, police received a report from ShopRite that 151 gift cards worth $64,100 had been stolen from the store located on South Riverside Avenue. The store's loss prevention officers identified the suspect as Laura Picozzi, a former store employee.

On January 30, detectives responded to the 33-year-old's home in Fishkill, arrested her, and took her to police headquarters.

Picozzi was charged with second-degree grand larceny. She was arraigned at the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Justice Court and released on her own recognizance.
