Evelyn Thornton of Ossining died on September 6, 2013, she was 81. She was born September 2, 1932 in Oxford, North Carolina to Colonial Cheatham and Annie Daniel Cheatham.
Evelyn worked for the Town of Ossining in the Nutrition Program.
She is survived by her daughters Jackqueline Bunch, Ardyce Thornton, Gloria Thornton, son George Thornton, sisters Grace Walker, Susie Wilkerson, Deloise Kelly, brother George Cheatham, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
She will be reposing Thursday September 12, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Home Going Service will be Friday September 13, 2013 beginning at 12pm at the Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church 304 Spring Street Ossining, burial to follow at Dale Cemetery.
