Heat Advisory Extended Through Thursday for Ossining, Croton

The National Weather Service (NWS) is still warning Westchester residents to avoid fatigue, sunstroke, muscle cramps and heat exhaustion during this week's extreme weather.

A heat advisory is again in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday, as the heat index is around 100. An index between 100 and 104 triggers the advisory.

Temperatures in Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson will rise to 95 on Thursday. The weather will stay hot and humid through Friday in the 90s with a chance of thunderstorms Thursday and Friday. 

The NWS is advising the public to drink plenty of fluids, stay in the air-conditioning, stay out of the sun and to check on relatives and neighbors. Try to avoid working outdoors or schedule frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
