Heavy Rain, Coastal Flooding Forecast For The Hudson Valley
Advisories have been issued for much of the region: get the details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Heavy rain and flash flooding are possible across parts of the region on
Friday.
"Expectations for 1" to 3" of rainfall is sensible but be wary for potential for 3" to 6" or even 8" of rainfall somewhere in the quad state area: PA, NY, NJ, & CT," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook.

For southern Westchester, coastal flood advisories have been issued for times of high tide: 10 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday, again from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, and a third from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday. Minor flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline, the National Weather Service said. Expect up to 1 foot of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas. Some roads and low-lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester, the NWS has issued a hazardous outlook, saying this slow moving coastal low will likely bring a widespread 2 to 3 inches of rain late Thursday into Saturday, much of it falling Friday morning into evening. This presents an area-wide minor urban, poor drainage, and low-lying flooding threat, as well as a quick responding minor river flood threat early Friday morning into Friday evening.

Monitor subsequent forecasts, the NWS said, as the rainfall and flood impacts forecast will be refined over the next 24 hours.
"Very much like last weekend, this will be a challenging forecast with sharp cutoffs in moisture. One location could get 3" of rain, and 30 minutes away less than an inch falls," the folks at Hudson Valley Weather said on Facebook.
