John E. Shook, a lifelong resident of Ossining, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013. John was born in Ossining on September 25, 1945 and was the son of Elden and Carmella (Monea) Shook. “Shookie” was 67.
John was a graduate of Ossining High School, Class of 1963, and a graduate of
Westchester Community College. He married Connie Perillo on June 10, 1967. He
was an Ex-Captain and 50-year member of Monitor Hose Co. of the Ossining Fire
Department. He was a member of B.P.O Elks, Westchester Bridge, and the Loyal
Order of Moose. He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church.
John is survived by his wife, Connie, his two daughters, Toni Ann Shook and Jean
Marie (John) Beaman; his sister Elizabeth Aviles; four grandchildren: Brandon and Kyle Visoky and Michael and Jessica Beaman,; his “brother” John Perillo and many nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his brother-in-law Confessor (Charlie) Aviles.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Dorsey. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 am at St. Ann’s Church. Interment at St. Augustine Cemetery..
