Man Drove Drunk To Mount Kisco Bar To Pick Up Drunk Pal: WCPD
Westchester County police said there was an open can of beer in the center console when he was pulled over on his way from Ossining.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Police say a Westchester man really misunderstood the concept of the designated driver.
The Westchester County Police Department says that around 2:47 a.m. on Saturday, a patrol officer stopped a vehicle that was being driven erratically on Lieto Drive in Mount Kisco. The officer noted a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath and an open can of beer in the center console.
It was determined that the driver had driven from Ossining to Mount Kisco to pick up a friend at a local bar because the friend needed a ride after drinking.

"So the guy who had been drinking and knew he shouldn’t drive was getting picked up by a guy who also had been drinking but decided he would drive anyway," police posted on social media. "As we’ve said before: You Can’t Make This Stuff Up."
The driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

"We share this tale, not only because it left us shaking our heads a bit, but because it highlights what to do and what not to do," the WCPD said." We commend the first guy for making the responsible decision not to get behind the wheel. His friend should have done the same."
The WCPD added that through August of this year, they have made 185 DWI arrests on the parkways or in the communities they patrol., which is a 9.5 percent increase over the same period the previous year.
