Monthslong, Multi-Agency Probe Leads To Crack, Gun Arrest: NYSP

OSSINING, NY — An Ossining man was arrested for narcotics and weapons possession after a coordinated sting, according to police.

New York State Police say that a 29-year-old Ossining man was arrested after an investigation led by the Village of Ossining Police Department, in collaboration with New York State Police Troop K and Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Teams (VGNET). The monthslong investigation focused on activities related to narcotics distribution in the area.

On May 22, law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a home on James Street, in the Village of Ossining. During the search, officers found a Jennings Firearms 9mm pistol and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine iinside the home.

Djion Bentley was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

State police say the investigation is ongoing. They also thanked the Village of Ossining Police Department, the Peekskill Police Department, and the FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force.
