Obituary: Fermina A. Ortiz, 77

Fermina Iriate Aquino Ortiz passed away on Aug. 1 at age 77. Known for her energy and exuberance, Ortiz—a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother—was a great story teller.

Ortiz helped raise and educate many of her family’s and friend’s children.

Her husband Juan Ortiz; three children Edith V. Aquino, Edmund  M. Ortiz and Jeannette F. Kurie; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive her.

Visiting and memorial services were held on Sunday at the Edward F. Carter in Croton-on-Hudson. The mass of Christian burial was on Monday, Aug. 5 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 59 Young Ave. in Croton-on-Hudson. Cremation services are private.
