Obituary: James K. Ryan Sr. of Ossining
Ryan was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard for many years

James K. Ryan Sr. of Ossining, passed away Nov. 23, 2023. He was 79. Jim was born in New York City on June 14, 1944. He was a 56-year active life member of Senate Hook & Ladder Co.# 1 of the Ossining Fire Dept., where he served as Captain and President.
He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army and served in the National Guard for many years. Jim was a past governor of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Elks Lodge.

He was also active in local athletics and served the community as a volunteer in many other capacities. Jim was employed as a chauffeur for Motor Freight Companies.
He is survived by his son James Jr. and daughter Heather.

Graveside services were held at Dale Cemetery in Ossining on Friday. Dec. 1, 2023, at 11 a.m.
