Obituary: Mary Kalanta, 93

Mary F. Kalanta passed away on Thursday, July 25 at age 93 with her grandson by her side.

The former Ossining resident lived in Hastings-on-Hudson and was born in the Bronx on Oct. 29 to William and Mary Fitzgerald. 

Kalanta worked for many years at the FDR Veterans Hospital in Montrose.

Her daughter Margaret, grandson Michael, sisters Margaret and Evelyn and many nieces and nephews survive her.

Visiting is on Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining followed by internment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
