As Chair of the Ossining Town Democratic Committee for 17 years, I’d like to express my support for the local slate running for reelection in the Village of Ossining: Mayor Rika Levin and Trustees Manuel Quezada and Dana White. I’m used to fielding a lot of calls about our local politicians, but not about this board. They’re too busy getting stuff done here in the village.

Too often, local politics get mired down in finger pointing and debate. It’s natural, I guess, but it gets in the way. These Democrats know that—their main agenda is what’s best for Ossining. And they are delivering. There’s that $20 million in grant money, more than any administration in Ossining history, including the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.

We’re on the verge of solving problems here in the village that have bogged us down for decades, bringing underused buildings back on line, a new village square, a transformed Community Center, and much more.

The village is about to break ground on finally upgrading the Five Corners intersection downtown. Affordable housing, the Route 9 Road Diet, a waterfront resiliency plan, green energy and eventually a new water treatment facility are all in the pipeline. And I have a feeling there’s more to come.

So please join me in re-electing Mayor Rika Levin and Trustees Manuel Quezada and Dana White. They’ve got more work to do!
