_Village of Ossining holds its Historic Preservation Commission Meeting.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

_The Town of Ossining will be issuing a proclamation making it a Purple Heart Town during their Town Board Meeting, 7:30 p.m. in Ossining Court, 86-88 Spring St. Ossining. This means it's a town that honors veterans who have earned the Military Order of the Purple Heart, granted to all of the brave American warriors who have been wounded or killed in battle. 

_Croton's Recreation Advisory Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. at 1 Van Wyck Street

_Croton's Planning Board meets at 8 p.m. 

Wednesday, Sept. 11

_Ossining Village and Town 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony - A Salute to America’s Heroes will be held at 7 p.m. at Engel Park on the waterfront adjacent to the Ossining Boat and Canoe Club. 

  • "On the twelfth anniversary of that fateful day, the Ossining community is gathering to remember and recognize the sacrifices of those who lost their lives in the tragedy and also our local heroes who risk their lives everyday in the service to others. Members of the public are invited to participate along with Village and Town of Ossining Emergency responders. _Croton's Zoning Board of Appeals meeting 8 p.m. is CANCELLED.

_Town of Ossining Planning Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the John Paul Rodrigues Operations Center at 101 Route 9A.

Thursday, Sept. 12

_Energize Croton event at the Croton Free Library from 4 to 6 p.m.

  • "The Croton Sustainability Team, Energize NY, and the Croton Free Library have partnered to make the Croton Library an Energized Library! The Croton Library is now equipped to support local homeowners in saving energy dollars by creating safer, more comfortable and energy efficient homes. Croton residents can stop in to the library for information on home energy assessments, and support with filling out online applications to get a free comprehensive home energy assessment through NYSERDA. The libraries will have support in English and Spanish and will offer Energize Application Assistance once a month. Come to the library on September 12, October 10 or November 14 from 4pm-6pm to receive application support from an Energize team member. Appointments are recommended.
