Ossining Native Earns College Field Hockey Award
Caitlin Malone, Malone, a junior center midfielder, led the Providence College Friars in scoring this season with 27 points on nine goals and nine assists.

Caitlin Malone is making a name for herself in the college field hockey scene.
The junior player—who this year is a center midfielder for the Friars at Providence College—has developed into one of the top players in the Big East conference, and the region, according to a story on the college's sports website.
She's just earned an award called the "Mountain Climber," for her contributions and growth on the team.

Malone led the team's scoring this season, wiht 27 points, nine goals and nine assists. She was named, All-Big-East Second Team, and All-Northeast Region Second Team, according to the school. She was also credited with the game-winning goal against Villanova last fall, helping the school to its "first Big East Championship berth since 2009."
In an interview with the school, Malone said she chose Providence for its size, academic standards and proximity to her hometown of Ossining.Â
