Putnam Man Arrested For Raping Child At Westchester Marina: Police
After communicating with her on Snapchat, he met her in person and raped her at the Half Moon Bay Marina, according to police.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — The Croton-on-Hudson Police Department said that a Brewster man was arrested on Monday for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at the Half Moon Bay Marina in November.
On November 2, 2024, Croton-on-Hudson detectives were contacted about a sexual assault that had taken place at the marina. Detectives advised the 15-year-old victim to go to Westchester Medical Center, where they would meet her to start the investigation.
At the hospital, detectives determined that the victim had been communicating with a man on Snapchat, but had never met him in person before that day.

Based on the information given by the victim, detectives were able to find the vessel where the alleged rape had taken place, and also identify the suspect.
Police say the investigation continued over the next few months since then.

On Monday, detectives arrested 18-year-old Azgan Mataj, of Brewster. He was charged with felony third degree rape.
Mataj was arraigned in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Justice Court and released on $7,500 cash bail. He is scheduled to return to court on January 22.
