Yet More Rain For The Hudson Valley This Week

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Rain returns to the forecast by Thursday night, with chances building for another wet weekend.

"Residents across parts of the mid-Atlantic states and New England haven't been able to catch a break recently concerning dreary and damp weekends, and unfortunately, conditions this weekend may not break the ongoing streak," said Alyssa Glenny, AccuWeather Meteorologist, describing the probable impacts of a coming cross-country storm. It would be the sixth consecutive weekend with some measurable rain in the region.

From Friday to Sunday, the Hudson Valley didn't see the kinds of totals as in recent storms, unlike the North Country; but most of the downpour came over three hours on Saturday afternoon and flash flooding ensued.

As for the upcoming weekend, "Be prepared for at least another 1"-2" or more of rainfall," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook.

No frost, though. Overnight lows will be in the low 40s in Dutchess and Ulster counties and the upper 40s in the lower valley.

• Wednesday - Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night - Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 40s.
• Thursday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s.
• Thursday Night - Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain after midnight. Lows around 50. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Friday - Partly sunny. A chance of rain in the morning. Highs in the lower 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Friday Night - Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain after midnight. Lows around 50. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Saturday - Rain likely. Highs in the upper 50s. Chance of rain 60 percent.
