Three Ossining Arts Groups Earn Matching Grants From ArtsWestchester
The Art$WChallenge raises money annually to support Westchester's arts and cultural sector.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Three Ossining arts organizations earned matching grants in ArtsWestchester's annual Art$Challenge: Bethany Arts Community, Westchester Collaborative Theater and the Sing Sing Prison Museum.
It was a record-breaking year for Art$WChallenge, which raised $1.28 million in 2022, ArtsWestchester officials said. In all, participating arts organizations raised $786,541 in private funds, which were matched with $501,571 in support from Westchester County.
Representatives of local arts groups, ArtsWestchester and public officials celebrated Friday at Morton's in White Plains.

"The scope of the Art$WChallenge grant allows ArtsWestchester and the County to innovatively crowdfund for over 100 art & cultural organizations," Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairwoman Catherine Borgia said.
Since the inception of the Art$WChallenge in 2007, the public/private program has raised more than $6 million to support Westchester’s arts and cultural sector, matched with over $3 million in County support, ArtsWestchester officials said.

Among the local arts groups who participated and earned matching grants:
- Bethany Arts Community (Ossining) – Raised: $35,858; Matched grant: $8500
- Westchester Collaborative Theater (Ossining) – Raised: $10,706; Matched grant: $8500
- Sing Sing Prison Museum (Ossining) – Raised: $9,201; Matched grant: $8500
- Arc Stages (Pleasantville) – Raised: $ 8500; Matched grant: $8500
- Pleasantville Music Theatre, Inc. – Raised: $245; Matched grant: $45
