 Journaling for SeniorsWednesdays | 12 PM – 1 PMCroton Free Library This free club offers older adults the chance to express themselves through writing, doodling, and more. No particular writing or art skills required. Supplies provided. Meets in the Library’s Ottinger Room. Offered in partnership with Croton Caring & Croton Recreation. No registration required. Community Blood DriveSaturday, March 19 | 10 AM – 4 PMMunicipal Building Community Room The New York Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive in the Community Room at the Municipal Building this Saturday. Appointments preferred, but walk-ins welcome if drive capacity permits. To sign up, call 1-800-933-2566 or visit http://www.nybc.org/donate. National Quilting Day CelebrationSaturday, March 19 | 1 PM – 4 PMOur Savior Lutheran Church The quilting members are celebrating national quilting weekend with an open house. Residents of Croton-on-Hudson are invited to visit and assist in finishing a quilt. Attendees will be taught how quilts are made for donation. Donated fabrics are used reduce waste. Also on display are other items made for those in need around the world. Refreshments will be offered. Croton Reads: Sue Anderson and Cris Groenendaal in ConcertSaturday, March 19 | 7 PM – 8 PMCroton Free Library Join us for a concert of love songs with Sue Anderson and Cris Groenendaal, acclaimed Croton residents and local treasures! They will serenade us with love songs in love’s many forms. This event will be live-streamed, and registration is required. Sign up now: crotonfreelibrary.org/croton-reads New York State Boating Safety Certification CourseSunday, March 27 | 9 AM – 5 PMCroton Yacht Club Under a recent state law known as Brianna’s Law, all motor boat operates born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, need a boating safety certificate. By 2025, all motor boat operators regardless of age will need this certificate. Join the Croton Yacht Club on March 30th to take this course. Register at www.nyboatingsafety.com; the fee is $70. You must be at least 10 years old to take the course. Coastal Navigation Certification CourseSunday, March 27 | 12 PM – 5 PMMunicipal Building Community Room Join the Croton Sailing School as they offer a three-day Coastal Navigation Certification Course. This course will teach you the basic navigation skills needed for sailing. The other dates for the course are April 2nd and April 3rd from noon to 5 PM. To register, visit crotonsailing.com.
