LIU Alum, Soccer Player Covered U.S Men's National Team At World Cup

Erin Fish said she got to be with the team "24/7...throughout their journey in the tournament," as a content creator for FIFA TV in Qatar.

GREENVALE, NY — A graduate of Long Island University and former Division 1 soccer player for the school was selected once again to cover a World Cup. Erin Fish, who graduated in 2016, went to Qatar as a digital content creator for FIFA, covering the U.S. Men's National Team, LIU shared.

Fish also covered the U.S. Women's National Team in France in 2019, following them all the way to the win.

The U.S. Men's National Team qualified for the Round of 16, and then lost to the Netherlands on Saturday.

“When I was asked to do the women's World Cup, it was a no-brainer," the Glen Falls, NY native told upstate New York paper The Times Union.

"Those women were my heroes growing up in the '90s."

Fish was a soccer standout in high school and studied sports journalism after graduating from LIU. She works for the Special Olympics.
