LOCUST VALLEY, NY — A Locust Valley High School senior just hit a milestone on the basketball court only four other female Falcons have achieved: scoring her 1,000th point. With a free throw during Tuesday's game against Malverne, Payton Tini became the fourth Locust Valley girls basketball player to make it to 1,000 career points, the district said.

Tini, co-captain of the team, celebrated with her teammates during a timeout in the game. Locust Valley won 53-39, and Tini was responsible for 25 of those points, along with nine rebounds, six steals and four assists, the district shared.

Tini has played on the varsity team since 8th grade, and started in 54 consecutive winning games in 2020 and 2021, a Long Island record. Named All-County and All-State last year, she's heading to Rutgers University's basketball team next fall.
