OYSTER BAY, NY — A GPS locator in a dog collar saved a man and his service dog who became stuck under a dock in Oyster Bay Sunday evening.

Nassau police said the 34-year-old was walking his dog at 8:23 p.m. The dog went swimming, began to struggle, and became stuck under a dock.

The man notified his girlfriend of the incident and she used the GPS locator to pinpoint their location and relay the information to police. He then went into the water to save the dog.
