Man Faces Numerous Charges After Damaging Neighbor's Door: PD
The incident started after the neighbor texted him to lower his music, police say.

An Oyster Bay man faces numerous charges after police say he damaged his neighbor's door after the neighbor told him to lower his music on Saturday morning in Oyster Bay.
According to authorities, 22-year-old Josue V. Alvarez Arias was playing loud music in his Lexington Avenue apartment when his 31-year-old neighbor texted him at 1:40 a.m. and asked Alvarez Arias to lower the music because he, his 24-year-old wife and 2-year-old daughter were trying to sleep.
Alvarez Arias then went to his neighbor's door and began verbally threatening the man and his family and started banging on the door with a metal ruler, damaging the door, police say.

The neighbors called police in fear of their safety, police say, and Alvarez Arias was subsequently arrested. No injuries were reported.
Alvarez Arias was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
