Oyster Bay-Based Riptide Racing Takes Silver At World Sailing Champs

OYSTER BAY, NY — An Oyster Bay-based sailing team went up against the best in the world this month, and walked away with a silver medal. Riptide Racing took second place at the 2022 World Match Race Championship in Sydney, Australia, a global match racing event.
"A pretty tough way to end an event we were sailing so well in but the team did an incredible job all week," the team posted on Facebook.
"We were in it with a chance to win it all the way to the finish line of the last race of the event which is all you can ask for."

The team is in its sixth season and has aspirations of a future Americas's Cup run.
"Thank you to all our supporters, fans, friends, and family for believing in us and cheering us on this year. We're proud of the season we've put together from the Long Beach to Sydney. We look forward to getting back on the water in 2023."
