Oyster Bay's Marino Park Baseball Field To Get New Artificial Turf
The park will get the new synthetic turf field this winter, which will allow young athletes to play with less cancellations due to rain.
OYSTER BAY, NY — Oyster Bay youth athletes will play on a brand-new synthetic turf field next spring, Oyster Bay Town announced Friday.
Senator Ralph J. Marino Memorial Park's baseball field has a natural turf field, which leads to more game and practice cancellations due to rain than synthetic, the town said.
The construction work will take place this winter.

"So many young athletes utilize Marino Park and this facility has gotten great use by the community," the town said.
"With such significant use, it can become more challenging to keep fields in top condition and difficult to manage schedules when weather makes the infield unplayable. These improvements will beautify this park while improving safety for the players."
