• Friends of the Bay launches clam seeding initiative (newsday.com) — Oyster Bay is partnering with local nonprofit Friends of the Bay to seed thousands of clams in newly designated shellfish sanctuary areas, aiming to revive dwindling shellfish populations in Oyster Bay Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor. Funded by private donations, the multi-year effort is part of broader town-backed waterway protections intended to boost water quality, biodiversity, and long-term shellfishing sustainability for North Shore residents.
