See Oyster Bay's 'Greatest Resource' With New Guided Kayak Cruise

Friends of the Bay and The WaterFront Center are partnering up to offer an exciting new guided kayaking tour around West Harbor.

OYSTER BAY, NY — Friends of the Bay and The WaterFront Center are partnering to offer the First Annual Kayak Conservation Cruise to bring attention to what it calls Oyster Bay's "greatest resource" — the estuary.

On July 18, participants will meet at The WaterFront Center in Oyster Bay to cruise around West Harbor. The tour will be guided by STEM and offsite coordinator of The WaterFront Center Molly Gagliano, as well as Bill Bleyer, author, historian and president of Friends of the Bay. The two will point out areas of natural and historical interest along the way.

After the tour, kayakers can enjoy being out on the water on their own.

All proceeds from the event will support both organizations in their outreach programs and their mission to educate the public and build a community of stewards to protect Oyster Bay's natural resources.

The number of registrants will be limited due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and all participants must wear masks while on shore.
