Sid Jacobson JCC Will Host Full Day Of Martin Luther King, Jr. Service
The Nassau Jewish community center plans a day of service opportunities and events to honor King, including blood, clothing and food drives.
EAST HILLS, NY — Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (SJJCC) in East Hills will host a day of events to honor the memory of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday.
Thecommunity center plans a food packing assembly, a blood drive and a clothing drive to benefit a local mental illness nonprofit.
The MLK Day events are geared toward helping SJJCC "work together toward a wider tent and a stronger future for all," the center said.

The Monday schedule is:

- 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: "Large-scale assembly projects that include packing over 1000 bags of necessary food and household items for people in need in our local community"
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A clothing, shoe, linen and small household item drive to benefit the National Alliance of Mental Illness on Long Island and in Queens
- 1 to 7 p.m: New York Blood Center blood drive
