Syosset Nonprofit MercyFirst Elects Three New Board Members
MercyFirst, a Syosset nonprofit human service agency, elected Darcy Belyea, James R. Jewett Jr. and William H. May to its Board of Trustees.

SYOSSET, NY — MercyFirst, a Syosset nonprofit human service agency, recently elected three new members — Darcy Belyea, James R. Jewett Jr. and William H. May — to its Board of Trustees.
“Our Board is always looking to have new members join us who bring their expertise and connections to assist us in strengthening our efforts with our Mission and programs in the Metropolitan area,” MercyFirst CEO Gerard McCaffery said.
Belyea is the director of Parks and Recreation at the City of Glen Cove, the chair of the Glen Cove Hall of Fame, an executive board member for Swim Across America and the recording secretary for the New York State Boxing Hall of Fame. Belyea volunteers at Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School, St. Patrick’s RC Church and is a member of the Church of St. Rocco Feast Committee. Belyea lives in Glen Cove with her husband Kevin Monahan and their family.

James R. Jewett Jr. is the vice president and chief investment officer of Ridgewood Savings Bank. He also serves as a board member for Operation SPLASH. Jewett resides in Bellmore with his wife Jennifer and their three daughters.
William H. May is the global head of certifications and educational programs at the Global Association of Risk Professionals. May is also a board member and senior advisor with One More Reason Foundation, a member of the Respect Life Committee at St. Patrick’s Church in Huntington, a member of the St. Anthony’s Fathers Guild and the president of the Harbor Hill Road Association. May lives in Lloyd Harbor with his wife Emily and their children.

MercyFirst also welcomes back its newly re-elected officers of the Board of Trustees: Chair Paul Travers, Vice Chair Stephen Davy, Vice Chair Rhonda Maco, Treasurer Brian Hecker and Secretary Marc McKenzie.
Headquartered in Syosset, MercyFirst is a nonprofit human service agency founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1894. MercyFirst provides an integrated continuum of care for over 3,200 traumatized and neglected children, teenagers and their families at 16 sites throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. The organization operates Family Support Programs, Foster Homes and Adoption Services, Treatment Family Foster Care, Community-based Group Homes, Mother/Child Residences and Campus- based Residential Treatment Programs.
