Shortly after that slashing, police responded to a call from Wyckoff Gardens apartment building along Nevins Street near Baltic Street, authorities said. They found Cintron unconscious inside with stab wounds to his neck and right arm, NYPD officials said.

Medics pronounced Cintron deceased and NYPD officers quickly linked both slashing to Vale, who remained on the loose until Tuesday, authorities said.
