Brooklyn Horror Film Festival's Thrilling Schedule Announced

Nitehawk Cinema's Williamsburg and Prospect Park locations will host the festival.

BROOKLYN, NY —The annual Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is back with a thrilling lineup of films and events Oct. 17-24.

All events will take place at Nitehawk Cinema'sWilliamsburg and Prospect Park locations, including a special screening of Larry Fessenden’s "Habit" with the Leviathan Award Ceremony, honoring his film career.

"Animale," a revenge fantasy from French director Emma Benestan, is the festival's centerpiece film, and "The Rule Of Jenny Pen," which stars Geoffrey Rush and John Lithgow, is the festival's closing night film.

The festival will include several movie premieres, including the New York premiere of "Dead Mail," directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy, on the opening night, as well as Tiago Teixeira’s North American premiere of his unsettling body horror, "Custom."

"Generation Terror," a documentary about the horror movie industry by Phillip Escott and Sarah Appleton, will also make its North American debut during the festival.

Movies making their world premieres at the festival include "House Of Ashes" by Izzy Lee, "Lilly Lives Alone," and "Psychonaut," which was described by the festival as "a queer sci-fi adventure."
