Brooklyn Subway Stations Not Getting Cell Service Anytime Soon
It will be a year before the next 31 stations get service, and none are in Brooklyn.

If you want cell service underground in Brooklyn, you've got some waiting to do.
But if you hate the idea of hearing someone blathering on their phone while you patiently (or not so patiently) wait for the train, you're in luck!
The Village Voice reported today that the next 31 stations to be equipped with cell service are all in Manhattan. According to an MTA rep, it will take a year to install the service.

The stations include the usual suspects: Times Square, Herald Square and Columbus Circle, among others.
It was just last week that some stations were equipped with AT&T and T-Mobile service. The MTA hopes to bring cell service to every station in the next four years. There is still no word on whether the tunnels will also eventually be talk-friendly. (Let's hope not?)
