Brooklyn Youth Pride 2023 In Park Slope: Here's What To Know
LGBTQIA+ pre-teens, teens and their allies will have a day "exclusively for them" Saturday during Youth Pride, organizers said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A fun, safe space that's just for LGBTQIA+ pre-teens, teens and their allies is coming back to Brooklyn Pride.
Youth Pride 2023 will be Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The second-annual youth pride event along Fourth Street near J.J. Byrne Playground and Old Stone House will have carnival games, dance contests, a stage for performers, free food, a teen lounge and more.

Cam Moore, director of Youth Pride, said it'll be a place where pre-teens and teens can meet and mingle with like-minded kids and allies.
"It’s exclusively for them," she said.

"That’s what it is: kids just being kids and making new friends."
Pride as a whole is an inclusive celebration, but Moore said youths still want their own space.
Last year, Brooklyn Pride organizers did just that when they offered their first Youth Pride.
The event went well, and this year it'll be even bigger, Moore said.
A wide array of partners — including the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty Vitamin Water and the Gay Officers Action League — has signed on to help with the festivities.
Moore said she's personally excited about a station that Brooklyn Public Library will set up. As a youth, she "grew up" within the library and knows firsthand that it's a vital safe space.
And Youth Pride itself will be doubly safe — Moore said organizers have taken precautions, including the presence of the Gay Officers Action League, in case of anti-LGBTQIA+ troublemakers. But she said those wider fears won't stop the fun.
"I can’t let that consume us," she said.
Tickets are free and can be obtained by RSVP here. They were close to running out as of Tuesday, but Moore said no kids will be turned away.
The event is geared toward teens and pre-teens, and not so much little children, Moore noted.
