Car Crash Kills Cyclist In Sunset Park: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — A driver struck and killed a cyclist at 4th Avenue and Belt Parkway on Friday just before 3 a.m., New York City Police Department officials say.

Gerardo Santiago De Los Santos was riding his bike westbound on Belt Parkway, and the driver, in a 2017 Dodge Challenger, was traveling eastbound.

Santiago De Los Santos was lying in the roadway when police arrived.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to the nearby Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was 43 years old.

The driver remained on the scene with police, and no arrests have been made yet. The police are investigating the incident.
