Celebrate St. Patrick's Day With Park Slope Parade This Weekend
The Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade returns along 15th Street in Park Slope on Sunday with marching bands, Irish step dancers and more.

PARK SLOPE, NY — If you want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day but avoid the crowds in Manhattan, just wait a day and head over to the annual Park Slope parade.
The 43rd annual Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade returns to the neighborhood on Sunday with step dancers, bagpipes, marching bands and more walking along the neighborhood's streets to celebrate Irish heritage, according to organizers.
The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. at Prospect Park West and 15th Street then heads to Seventh Avenue, Garfield Place and back to Prospect Park West, with those streets closed to drivers during the event.

A pre-parade mass will be at 9 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 245 Prospect Park West, and organizers will hold a "Rededication Ceremony" for 9/11 victims at 12:45 p.m.
They'll also be an after party from 3 to 6 p.m. inside Holy Name's Parish Hallwith corned beef and cabbage, beer, coffee and music by the Brooklyn Bards. Reservations must be made for the dinner and tickets are $35.

This year's Grand Marshal is the president of Green-Wood Cemetery, Richard J. Moylan, organizers said.
