Concerts Return To Union Hall After Devastating Fire
Here's some good news for Park Slope concert-goers.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Union Hall will host its first show on May 15 since a devastating fire tore through the Park Slope bar and music venue's main level.
The upstairs isn't ready for the public yet, the bar said in an announcement on its Facebook page, but the basement is ready to host shows.
"We are making progress to open the upstairs of Union Hall, but meanwhile we are happy to announce we are able to host some of our shows in the basement, with entry through the patio gate!" a post from the venue said.

"So please come for the Union Hall Basement Series starting May 15! The kitchen won’t be open yet but there will be music and comedy and delicious drinks."

The fire started just before midnight on Friday, March 24, in the bar's cockloft. It took about 60 firefighters to get the blaze under control about a half hour later.
The band Savak was finishing up its headlining set in the bar's basement that night when the fire broke out.
While the downstairs area didn't sustain major damage — "A few wet amps," Greg Vegas, who played saxophone with SAVAK that night, told Brooklyn Vegan — the upstairs didn't fare as well
"Place is wrecked," Hewson Chen of Lake Ruth told Brooklyn Vegan.
