Crook Sprays Cops With Chemicals In Atlantic Terminal Target: NYPD
A man sprayed two NYPD officers with an irritant after they tried to stop him from stealing from the store in October, officials said.

BROOKLYN — A man sprayed two officers with an unknown chemical irritant after the cops tried to halt his theft at a Brooklyn Target store, according to officials.
On Oct. 23 at about 9:45 p.m., a man tried to leave the Atlantic Terminal Target without paying for a number of items, police said.
Two uniformed NYPD officers tried to stop him and the man began struggling with the cops over his stolen items, according to officials.

The man then sprayed both officers with a chemical in their faces, leaving the cops' eyes swollen and faces burning as the man fled on foot, police said.
First responders brought the two officers to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope where they were treated for their injuries, officials said.

Police released images of the suspect in the case.
