Cyclist Killed In Crash With FDNY Truck In Brooklyn, Police Say

No arrests have been made yet.

BROOKLYN, NY — A cyclist was killed in a crash with a fire truck on Wednesday night in Brooklyn, New York City Police Department officials said.

The FDNY vehicle, which had its emergency siren on, was driving northbound on 4th Avenue when it collided with cyclist Victor Hidalgo, who was riding eastbound on Sackett Street at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, NYPD officials said.

Hidalgo, 24, was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, police said.

The driver of the fire truck, a 44-year-old man, stayed on the scene with the police, according to the NYPD.

No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
