BROOKLYN, NY — A man was found dead on a Brooklyn park bench Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.

In response to a 911 call, police rushed to Sunset Park about 7 a.m. Wednesday and found an unconscious man on a park bench near Fifth Avenue and 44th Street, police said.

First responders pronounced the 44-year-old man dead on the scene, according to the NYPD.

His identity wasn't released as of Wednesday afternoon, as officials are still trying to alert his family, police said.

The man's cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner, according to the NYPD.

He is the latest person to be found dead in a New York City park this year: Last week, a passerby found a dead man with a bag on his head in Queens' Alley Pond Park, and last month a person in Forest Park (also in Queens) discovered the mutilated body of a local mother stuffed in a duffel bag.
