'Don't Be Like Bill!' Mayor Mocked Again At Park Slope YMCA
Another YMCA flyer chastised the mayor for not wiping down gym equipment and reminded visitors to stay out of the 2020 presidential race.

PARK SLOPE, NY — Mayor Bill de Blasio's neighbors want him to clean up after himself before he tries to clean up the country. At least one flyer mocking the Democratic mayor's gym etiquette has appeared in a locker room at the Park Slope YMCA where he prefers to work out.
"Don't Be Like BILL! Wipe down all equipment after use," reads the flyer, which features an image with the mayor's face superimposed onto the body of a heavy-set man wearing a hoodie.
The flyer has more instructions for the gym's visitors: Respect the equipment, honor gym rules, don't "occupy machines unless actually using them" — and "Don't run for President in 2020." It could be seen in the locker room as recently as Wednesday morning, Park Slope resident Mike Deering said.

The sign came from the same group of disappointed Park Slopers who hung flyers earlier this week demanding that anyone entering the gym not run for the White House, said Dave Stevens, one of the group's members.
"He should start by cleaning up the machines he sweats on, then the mess in the city, and if he can do that then maybe in 4 years he could run for President," Stevens told Patch in an email. "Baby steps."

"I wonder if he wipes down the machines on his visits to Iowa and New Hampshire," Stevens added.
De Blasio press secretary Freddi Goldstein declined to comment on the flyer.
The new flyer is just the latest sign of dissatisfaction with de Blasio's presidential ambitions as he mulls a White House run. About three-quarters of New York City voters say they don't want him to run for president in 2020 and nearly half said it would be bad for the city if he did, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released in April.
Stevens said his group has gotten many supportive emails from Park Slopers. The group has encouraged local businesses to post flyers like those found in the YMCA earlier this week and it plans to hold a "DeBlasio for Resident" rally, he said.
At the rally the group would "demand the mayor end his pointless flirtation with running for president and focus on solving problems close to home - from the affordable housing crisis to the crumbling subways to wiping down the bench press," Stevens said.
