In its seventh year at 496 6th Avenue in Park Slope, the Red Horse Cafe bustles throughout the day as people come in and out to grab a drink or stay a while and relax with a snack and their laptop.
Owner Carolina Whitson points to the great relationships she's made in the community as what stands out through the seven years in Park Slope.
"The people, the community, all the people we've met and the connections we've made with people we met here," she said is her favorite part about the cafe. "We've developed and continued relationships with people outside as well. That's the number one thing."
The cafe features a long list of coffees and teas, sweets, pastries, wraps, salads and even wine and beer as well. They also offer free WiFi.
So with plenty of cafes to choose from in Park Slope and all across Brooklyn, why do so many choose the Red Horse? Whitson says it's the vibe.
"People do say we have great coffee, and I agree," Whitson said with a laugh. "But really, a lot of people come here for the space...the environment and vibe. There are other places in Park Slope that have great coffee as well but I think people choose us because of the environment."
