PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Soon, Brooklynites won't have to travel to Harlem for a taste of the neighborhood.

Popular burger joint Harlem Shake, which has been open on West 124th Street since 2013, is planning on opening its second location on Brooklyn's Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Patch has learned.

The new 1,300-square-foot spot, found near Sterling Place, will be the first venture outside of Harlem for the neighborhood-inspired eatery.

“Our aim is to bring our celebrated concept to Brooklyn, with a bit of nostalgia and a nod to pop culture,” founder Jelena Pasic said in a release. “Not to mention, bring residents and visitors high-quality, affordable offerings in a welcoming environment.”

The fast-casual restaurant will be found at 119 Fifth Ave. and include a similar menu as its flagship location, which includes burgers, New York hot dogs, hand-spun shakes and other classic diner staples, according to the release.

The interior will include homage to the previous businesses at the corner storefront, which was built as a dry goods store in the 1800s and converted to a diner itself in the 1940s.

It will include a "Wall of Fame" celebrating notable patrons, a "Miss Harlem Shake" photo showing the eatery's namesake dance, a vintage jukebox and a "Wall of Fab" celebration of vintage hairstyles, according to the release.

Real estate firm Katz & Associates helped the business find the new location, the company said.

“It was exciting to help Harlem Shake find an ideal location – a great corner in Park Slope in Brooklyn — to expand their iconic brand,” said Katz Director David Yablon. "...We know the Brooklyn location will also be a huge success.”

The new location will open in September and will run seven days a week.
