Last Look: Park Slope's Pavilion Theater Says Good Night
Who gets to keep the shag carpeting on the third floor lounge?

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN, NY — The Pavilion Theater opened its doors for the last time on Tuesday night, filling with community members wishing to walk its — we can all agree — long-decaying halls one more time. It will now close for a year while Nitehawk Cinema spends $10 million turning it into the new Nitehawk Prospect Park, expected to open next fall. Here are a few photos from The Pavilion's final night:

The Pavilion's second floor lobby, which will look very different after Nitehawk's renovations.

One last crack at that perfidious claw game.

A silent movie rolled on the screen inside one of The Pavilion's theaters.

So long, aging seats.

Fare well, ripped carpet.

Visitors were also treated to a tour of an upstairs area that once served as a bar and lounge.

Long abandoned, it sported leopard and zebra patterning and a shag carpet.

A nod to famous interior designer Sandro Botticelli.

A collection of lounge furniture.

And a faded red couch.

More art on the walls.

Is than an "A" rating we see?

The decor mixed ages and themes.

Tables by the second floor's large windows (which will be preserved).
Happy Birthday, Pavilion! Your rebirth is just a year away.
