BROOKLYN, NY — A man died after an early morning shooting along a busy Brooklyn street Monday, police said.

The 31-year-old man, identified as Giovanni Rivera, was found with a gunshot to his torso and back inside 5002 Third Avenue, near the corner of 50th Street, in Sunset Park, at about 5 a.m., authorities said.

Medics rushed him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where doctors pronounced him dead, police said.

The shooting is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, NYPD officials said. The incident unfolded a short distance from the popular event space, The Brooklyn Hangar.

Police had no further information as of Tuesday morning.
