Man Uses Stolen Accounts To Get Cash From Park Slope Banks: NYPD

The man used bank accounts from six people to get cash at banks in Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and Manhattan, police said.

PARK SLOPE, NY — A man used stolen accounts from people to get cash at banks in Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Borough Park and Manhattan last year, police said.

Between October to December, the thief got the bank account information from six people and withdrew about $2,672 from spots around the city with them, the NYPD said on Wednesday.

The man first hit on Oct. 1, when he used a 48-year-old man's account to take $626 from the Chase Bank at 5420 13th Ave. in Borough Park, police said.

The other incidents were:

  • On Nov. 18, the man used an account to take $743 from a Chase Bank at 535 Fifth Ave. in Park Slope.
  • On Nov. 18, he used a different account to get about $200 from the Chase Bank at 390 Court St. in Carroll Gardens.
  • On Nov. 20, he used a woman's account to withdraw $303 from the Park Slope Chase Bank.
  • On Dec. 16, he used a woman's account to withdraw $400 from the Bank of America at 274 Seventh Ave. in Park Slope.

The last reported incident was on Dec. 23, when he used a Brooklyn's man's account to withdraw about $400 from an Apple Bank in Manhattan, police said.
