New Noodle Shop In Brooklyn Replaces Shuttered Lot 2 Restaurant
A new noodle shop offering a range of pan-Asian dishes has opened in the Sixth Avenue space formerly held by the beloved local spot, Lot 2.
BROOKLYN, NY — South Slope has a new spot for ramen.
Late last month, Unoriginal Noodles and Bar opened on 6th Avenue between 19th and 20th Streets, a storefront that long-housed the popular New American restaurant, Lot 2, which closed its doors to the community in late 2022 after more than a decade.
The new eatery offers a variety of pan-Asian dishes, with its main specialty—and namesake—being its selection of noodle soups. The menu currently features Tonkotsu, seafood, Chicken and miso vegetarian ramen, as well as spicy Taiwanese beef noodle soup made with a spicy Tobanjan miso broth.

The menu also includes about half a dozen appetizers, such as duck wings with a sweet and spicy glaze, chewy mochi fried tofu, fried oysters with spicy pickles, roasted miso hamachi collar and a serving of karaage chicken.
Unoriginal Noodles and Bar is owned and operated by Malcolm Ting, who previously worked at The Meat Hook, a whole-animal butcher specializing in pasture-raised, grass-fed meats that first opened in Williamsburg 15 years ago.
