New Photos Show Suspect In Rape Near Green-Wood Cemetery: NYPD

Police are offering an up to $3,500 reward for information that tracks down a man who brutally sexually assaulted a woman early March 18.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The hunt for a man who police said raped a woman near Green-Wood Cemetery has a fresh lead: photographs showing the suspect sitting in a before an hour before the attack.

NYPD officials released the photographs Thursday along with a notice of an up to $3,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

The rape unfolded March 18 about 3 a.m. when a 49-year-old woman walked near 27th Street and Fifth Avenue, just a stone's throw from Green-Wood Cemetery, police said.

An as-yet-unidentified man struck up a conversation with the woman before he pushed her to the ground, pulled her into an alley and raped her, authorities said.

The man punched her and ran off when she refused to perform further sexual acts, police said.

Police previously released video and photographs Wednesday apparently taken on the street.

The new batch of photographs was taken from video inside El Viejon Bar, a Sunset Park establishment at 4332 Second AVe., near 44th Street, authorities said.

The images and video show the man apparently talking to a bar employee.
