Brooklyn Baseball Coach Accused Of Sexually Abusing 7 Children: DA

The children were between 12 and 14 years old, the district attorney said.

BROOKLYN, NY — The Brooklyn District Attorney has accused a Park Slope youth baseball coach of sexually abusing seven children under the age of 14.

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said the Park Slope-based man, Nicolas Morton, received a 20-count indictment that charges him with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, third- and first-degree sexual abuse, 13 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of forcible touching, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

According to the DA, the investigation accuses Morton, 31, of touching children’s private areas and asking to see their genitalia on multiple occasions between 2023 and the summer of 2024 while employed as the baseball coach of The Packer Collegiate Institute, which is in Downtown Brooklyn.

The investigators also accused the coach of telling the students they could not stop running or doing other difficult drills unless they exposed themselves to him and threatened boys that they would be cut from the team if they did not oblige.

At the time, all seven of the victims were between 12 and 14 years old.

“This defendant’s alleged actions represent a profound betrayal of trust, preying on the young athletes under his guidance," Gonzalez said. "Coaches are entrusted with nurturing young minds and talents, not exploiting them for personal gratification."

Bail was set at $75,000 cash or $150,000 bond and the defendant was ordered to return to court on Dec. 13. The school fired the defendant in August.
