Park Slope Civic Council to Host Mayoral Candidates Forum at CBE Monday

Come and pose questions to the New York City mayoral candidates on Monday night.

Come and get political, Park Slope.

A coalition of Brooklyn-based community groups will host a public forum Monday for candidates in the upcoming New York City mayoral race.

The Brooklyn Civics 2013 Mayoral Forum will give residents an opportunity to submit Brooklyn-centric questions, ranging from topics like "infrastructure, schools, emergency preparedness, city services, transportation and transit, parks, development, businesses, and local jobs," the Park Slope Civic Council explained in a release.

All mayoral candidates as of March 2013 have been invited to attend the forum, including Sal Albanese, Adolfo Carrion, John Catsimatidis, Bill de Blasio, Joe Lhota, John Liu, George McDonald, Christine Quinn and Bill Thompson.

The forum will be moderated by Andrea Bernstein of WNYC and will be strictly timed. There will be 1.5-minute opening statements and 2-minute closing statements.

In addition to the Park Slope Civic Council, the event is sponsored by the Brooklyn Heights Association, the Boerum Hill Association, the Crown Heights North Association, the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council, the Fort Greene Association and the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association. It will begin at 7 p.m. at  Congregation Beth Elohim, 274 Garfield Place at Eighth Avenue.

The forum is free to the public. RSVP or tickets are not required; seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
