Park Slope Homeowner Fills Lawn With Anti-Trump Decorations

The 12th Street home is filled with ski-mask-wearing mannequins holding up signs saying "Arrest Trump" and "Trump is a Danger to Us All."

PARK SLOPE, NY — A 12th Street home has turned heads with its unique holiday decorations. Instead of Santa or reindeers, the home's lawn has nearly a dozen ski-mask wearing mannequins with Anti-Trump signs.

The house, between 6th and 7th avenues, has passersby stopping to snap pics of the mannequins wearing red and black ski-masks holding up signs like "Trump is a Danger to Us All," "Arrest Trump," and "Trump is a Force of Racism."

"We first put it up as a Halloween display looking at the dangerous and unsettling times in which we live, with messages about racism, hate, greed, and walls that commented on how deadly those forces are," homeowner Laurie Arbeiter told the Brooklyn Paper.

"We received an overwhelming response of gratitude and such positive feedback that we decided to keep it up and to change the messages from time to time," she added.

The mannequins — all donned in black t-shirts — litter the lawn and balcony of the home and there's a spotlight pointed at them for nighttime. Even the shrubs and trees have Anti-Trump signs stuck to them.

Arbeiter, one of the founders of the activist group "We Will Not Be Silent," told the paper she uses signs she made during previous protests around the country for her decorations and switches them out regularly.

While neighbors said they agreed with the messages printed on the signs, they told the Brooklyn Paper they were a little intense compared to the other traditional Christmas decorations on the block.

"My daughter’s not the biggest fan, it scares her," Andrew Guttormsson told the paper. "But I guess that’s kind of the point — to freak everybody out."
