Park Slope Pizzeria Reopens After Fire Last Year

The grand reopening marked the first time that Tutt'Appost serves pizza in Park Slope since a blaze caused serious damage last October.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Almost exactly a year after it first opened in the neighborhood, a Park Slope pizzeria celebrated its grand reopening this week after shuttering in the wake of a fire.

Tutt'Appost, a Neapolitan style wood fire pizza restaurant, opened on Fifth Avenue last April, but it was forced to close about six months later after a fire caused "serious damage," owners said.

"We hope to reopen soon and come back stronger than ever," owners vowed after the fire — a promise that's now come to fruition, as Tutt'Appost celebrated its grand reopening Wednesday, according to its website.

Opened by a trio of friends, two of whom are from Naples, Tutt'Appost boasts a menu featuring a full page of wood-fired pizzas — from spicy-meat topped pies to slices covered in mushrooms and black truffles.

There's also a host of Italian classics, like homemade meatballs and pasta dishes, all made with natural ingredients, according to the website.

On the weekend, Tutt'Appost trades pizza for a morning brunch menu with an Italian twist, like a BLT on focaccia, Nutella waffles, fried calamari, and more (the dinner menu comes back out in the evening, though).

The restaurant, which is located at 289 Fifth Avenue in between First and Second streets, is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
